Yvette L. Ward, Psy.D., Director of the Warm Springs Training Institute

Leadership

Yvette L. Ward, Psy.D., directs the Warm Springs Training Institute. Dr. Ward has an extensive background in psychology and business, including experience in adult training, research, psychological assessment, psychotherapy, parent coaching, and systems analysis. She holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University and has taught at George Fox University, Northwest Nazarene University, and Stevens-Henager College. Prior to joining Warm Springs Training Institute, Dr. Ward served as Chief of Deployment & Re-integration Health for the 366th Medical Group at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. She chairs the WSTI's Internship Management Team which provides direction for the Pre-doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology.

Dr. Ward has provided mental health services in hospital, outpatient, nursing home, assisted living, and university settings. Her clinical practice provides parent coaching and psychological services to families, couples, and individuals (geriatric adults, adults, teens, and school-aged children). Dr. Ward has received specialized training in the interface of psychology with religion. Her private practice provides a setting in which those who wish to do so can draw upon their personal spiritual principles and beliefs when confronting emotional and psychological issues, including late-life and end-of-life matters.

Dr. Ward is a former President of the Idaho Psychological Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Mental Health Access To Children (MATCH) and Friends in Action of Boise (a coalition of businesses, community agencies, and faith communities-Jewish, Christian, and Muslim-providing educational and volunteer support to frail elderly and their care-givers).
